Children portraits are hard to shoot but with lots of practice it will become easier. Here are some of the children portraits that I have shot all looking very natural and sweet. Love that childhood innocence. Each an individual character and all so pure! I have done them in monochrome so that it all sits well together as a set.

One of the tips I read a long time ago was to go to the child’s level to shoot. Don’t shoot standing much higher than them, it would just make them shorter. When you crouch down or sit on the floor you can get more personal and closer. The results will be better too!

Give it a try. Your children will thank you for making them look so much cuter and sweet even if they are not so in real life.

I did not know any of the children in these photos. There were all candid photos that I shot very quickly and with just one shot each. With children it also pays to be able to shoot quickly too as facial expressions change as quickly as channel surfing.
