This is a portrait of my dad holding incense sticks that was lit. There were lots of smoke and he was taking them to place into the incense holder. I loved the atmosphere and feeling in this shot. He is a Buddhist and loves being one too.

The effect of the smoke surrounding him is almost out of this world feeling. This was shot at Lantau Island, Hong Kong where the famous big Buddha sits.

Well, I love the effect of the smoke that frames him so nicely. To keep it simple I did it in monochrome and this is all natural, not posed or planned in advance. Spontaneous and candid.
