I made this cork necklace because I have collected over the years a few hundred of these corks and it was time to put it to good use. I was thinking what I could make from these wine corks. After thinking many things to do with it, I decided to start by making a cork necklace. It is light and the size is just nice to be used as a necklace. This particular one was created for someone who could be declaring his love for his girl or reinforcing it for Valentine’s Day for example.

It was create with the base wine cork of nice quality and has metallic red dust stuck onto it. On the front is the word LOVE running downwards. I also added a eyelet screw on the top so that the genuine leather strap could be inserted and this makes the necklace complete.

At the bottom of the cork I stuck a brown colored shirt button to cover and protect the bottom bit. Two metal hearts were also stuck on either side of the word LOVE. I think it is a very nice gift for loved one… be it for your wife, family member or even just good friends. It will be an interesting conversation piece when you wear it. And it could be a unique ice breaker too.

I read somewhere that people remember you if you have something unusual about you for example a nametag on your shirt that is upside down. People would stop you to tell you that your nametag is upside down and in this way you can meet new people too.
